The girl was three years old. One day she got bored and entered the room where her grandmother slept. The room was empty. The bed was unmade. The book that was read before dinner every afternoon was standing next to the clock on the bed stand. She picked it up along with the headscarf and the prayer breads on the pink pillow and sat on the bed. After settling down carefully, she covered her head with the scarf just like her grandmother did. She placed the White, flower – patterned pillow smoothy on her lap, covering her legs entirely. She put the book on the pillow and held it in her palms. Without noticing she was being watched, she began to mutter as if she was reading it; shaking her head from right to left just like her grandmother does. A sudden voice said, “I caught you!” the girl smiled: “cheeeese…”.

"Curated by Öznür Güzel Karasu, the exhibition brings together 22 artists from various disciplines, exploring different meanings of the concept of “game” through their works and delving into the processes of play that we encounter in every aspect of life. The various games we play essentially highlight the state of uncanniness in which we live. These include the games we play while dealing with our roles in the social order, the games we are exposed to in such an enormous system, our fictional games, the games of our childhood: cheerful games, games of partiality, cultural games, and games of perception. In the exhibition, art also becomes a tool for seeking a way out of the social machinery we are all born into, but the end of which is unclear. During these intellectual journeys sparked by instinct, we encounter equations related to the mind’s explorations."
